Melanie McDermott, Founder & CEO
I began working in the hospitality industry at age 13 and in my twenties entered the legal field as a trial paralegal. While this path led me to a career in law office and business management, it was only after entering the nonprofit arena that I discovered my call to empower women.
There is beauty and purpose behind our painful experiences. I hope my story inspires every woman who struggles to believe this truth so she too can transform into the radiant butterfly she is meant to be.
United Souls for Women was created as a way to combine my love for hospitality, with a mind for business and heart for serving. Through its mission, God’s love and your help, we will rebuild the lives of countless women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.
Board of Directors
Claudia Pardo, Board Director
Claudia grew up in Peru, one of three girls, and was always surrounded by strong women in her family, including her grandmothers and extended family - her paternal grandmother and aunts were among the first women to register to vote in Peru in 1955, ensuring women were empowered and heard.
Claudia moved to the US and graduated from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. After business school, she pursued a career in management and strategy consulting and she is currently a Partner at Innosight, based out of its European office in Switzerland.
Claudia lives near Geneva with her husband and four children. She enjoys the outdoors and is an avid cook.
Ivette Hershey, Board Director
Ivette grew up in Bolivia and came to the United States to attend college. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
Ivette currently works as a senior project manager for a multinational food and drink company. In her previous roles, she oversaw business initiatives for Fortune 500 companies while keeping a pulse on customer experiences and KPI's. She is also a former art teacher, Founder of Art by Ivette, LLC and published poet.
Ivette is a blessed mom of twin boys whose faith and friendships fuel her purpose.
Natascia Hatch, CPA, Board Treasurer
Natascia is the Chief Executive Officer of MJM Yachts, LLC and its former Chief Operating Officer. She is also the Founding Partner of N.M. McCraight, PLLC. Previously, Natascia worked at Iconic Marine Group as its Director of Finance, Supply and Production Planning, and Hatteras Yachts as its Chief Program Manager. She is also a former school teacher, successful inventor and auditor at Arthur Andersen.
Natascia is the mother of three beautiful children, and an avid marathon runner who loves to inspire others to become the greatest version of themself.
